DEADLINE TITLE OF SCHOLARSHIPS
02/26/10 LA RAZA LAWYERS ASSOCIATION OF SOLANO COUNTY
Amount: $500
Requirements: Must be of Latino/Hispanic heritage, in finical need,
high school transcripts, financial and dependency
information, personal essay, two letters of
recommendation.
02/26/10 ASSIST-A-GRAD
Requirements: Must consist of 3 copies of the following pages:
Transcript, letters of recommendation, activities.
Any additional essay, letter, or special requirements
listed for specific scholarships.
02/26/10 KAISER PERMANENTE ASIAN ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP
Amount: 50 scholarships totaling $100,000
Requirements: High school senior planning on going to an accredited
two or four year college, university, trade or technical
school in Fall 2010, must be a resident in the Kaiser
Permanente Northern CA service area, Asian descent,
2.5 GPA.
03/01/10 ASIAN PACIFIC ISLANDRES
Amount: $1,500
Requirements: Must have a 2.75 GPA, letter of recommendation,
transcript. Must be a United States citizen.
03/01/10 SONS OF ITALY WESTRN FOUNDATION
Requirements: Must be of Italian descent, be enrolled in an
Accredited trade school, college, university or
community college. Submit SAT/PSAT/ACT
scores, GPA, transcripts, 2 letter of recommendation.

Amount: $500
Requirements: 3.0 GPA, activity record, transcript, two letters

guardian who is employed as a vineyard employee
of the wine grower during the 2009 or 2010 season.
Attach a copy of your SAT or ACT scores, transcript,
letter of recommendation, 500 word essay.
04/02/10 THETA PI CHAPTER OF OMEGA PSI PHI FRATERNITY
Amount: Up to $1,000
Requirements: Must be a graduating African-American male, with a
3.0 GPA. Completed application must include, two
letters of recommendation, transcript, essay,
acceptance letter from the Registrar’s office the
applicant’s proposed college/university.
04/04/10 KAPPA ALPHA PSI FRATERNITY, INC.

04/05/10 CIVIL SERVICE EMPLOYEE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Amount: $1,500
Requirements: Graduating senior, 3.0 GPA, must have been
accepted to an accredited 2 or 4 year college or
university, or trade school in the United States.

Amount: Student must have ha a parent/guardian or grandparent
that served in the U.S. Military, planning on attending
a school of higher learning, must maintain grades and
have no disciplinary actions that would preclude them
from obtaining a diploma from high school.
04/10/10 FOSTER A DREAM: DARE TO DREAM SCHLARSHIP
Amount: $1,000 - $5,000
Foster a Dream is a non-profit organization that was established in 2002.
Their mission is to build the hopes, dreams, and futures of Bay Area foster
children and be a guiding source for successful transition into the adult
world.
Requirements: Include a recent photo, high school transcripts, essay
personal statement, verification of foster care, two
of recommendation.
04/15/10 FEDERAL MANAGERS’ ASSOCIATION (FMA)
Amount: $500 - $1,000
Requirements: Copy of high school transcript, SAT/ACT scores,
Essay, letter of recommendation.
04/15/10 CECIL LAMAR MEMORIAL SCHOARSHIP AWARD
Amount: $1,000
Requirements: Must be a legal dependent of a civil service
Employee who is either working at or retired
Travis AFB. Grandchildren of members of FMA
Chapter 167 are also eligible to apply.
2010 SCHOLARSHIPS
PART I: addendum
ANITA LARA MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Up to $1000 in Scholarship(s) will be awarded this year from Frank and Jourdan Lara in memory of Anita Lara, loving and devoted wife, mother, and Sylvan Choir booster mom. Applications will be accepted from any 2010-graduating senior who is currently participating in any of the choir groups formally organized through the school curriculum. It will be available to seniors planning to attend any higher institute of learning. It is also preferred that students plan on pursuing music as a major or minor degree, but not required. No financial statement is needed.
- Submit a typed essay-style letter explaining why the scholarship is needed, how much music has influenced your life, your contribution to the music program at WCW, how you will continue your music in college and any other pertinent information about yourself (awards, participation in shows, etc.)
- Submit a Director’s Evaluation form. This must be obtained from Mr. Barthelmess and submitted with your application in a sealed envelope.
- Submit at least two letters of recommendation.
- Applicants must provide proof of enrollment, as needed later, in their chosen college or university prior to awarding scholarship funds, which will be sent directly to the college or university upon approval.
